About “Who Wears It Better” . So an Ottawa girl, Svetlana, had an excellent idea on how to support and promote our local shops and boutiques in Ottawa. We all know how an easy access to online shopping lured most of us by cheaper prices.  However, online shopping has its negatives: long wait times, disappointment of received items, long time searching for products, using credit cards online and many other reasons...
On the other hand, with going physically to a store shopping, we support our local community, we help our government, we enjoy the physical aspect of shopping, touching and trying on things, and we’re having the instant feel good when buying.
    Therefore, the reasoning behind the launch of the website to keep us, the Ottawa community, up to date with shops and current trends available in stores. What a great idea! I just love it! Svetlana has put an enormous amount of work in a very short period of time! I'm amazed at this girl's energy level and her will to succeed! Let's support Svetlana and our community!
Svetlana also has a blog about her triathlon training and fundraising "Dress for Success Ottawa"
Svetlana says "I'm trying to raise $5000 and it's for a great cause. If you think you could contribute to that by either donating (I would appreciate any amount at all) or just spreading a word about it, that would be amazing. Now, more about my part in this contest. I've been offered to be a part of this contest. I loved the process of photo session...Andrew, the photographer was just amazing! During the shoot, he made me feel so comfortable in front of his camera...I really felt the moment. Svetlana’s selection of my look perfectly suited my personality. The look was casual and floral with a nice book on a sunny afternoon. I was definitely in the moment! Then we were asked to promote our contest to all our friends and relatives so you, guys, can vote for us. I can't say enough how amazed I'm at support I'm receiving from you! Thank you all! It means so much to me! I am so glad to have devoted relatives, friends and colleagues, who vote daily! Thank you all!!!! It's very emotional! At this moment I’m ahead of others and I have achieved 441 votes. I can't believe the number :) !!!!

We have 2 weeks to go and I'm hoping to win! On this note, I think it's very important to let all of you know what I'm going to do with the money if I win because all of you are part of this contest! And I can't win without your support!

1. ·       Svetalana asked us to donate $100 from the prize to a charity. I chose The Ottawa Mission because I can’t stand a thought that hungry people are all around us. We don’t always see them, but they are here. I recently helped one of my pts, who I see regularly at work, who has been starving for days and I didn’t know until one incident. I was so lucky to be able to help him. I organized a basket for him and his family, my colleagues were amazing. We collected enormous amount of food and clothing for him. Our social worker was able to help with long term solutions.


2. ·         Then as you know because you’re reading my blog. I love my fairly new hobby: photography. So I’ve wanted a new equipment and a colour printer for a long time, but it was not the priority on our budget. So part of the money will go for the printer and possibly for a new lens for my camera.


3. ·        I have been dreaming about my own contest on my blog for about a year. So part of the money will go into organizing a contest on this blog for everybody, who’d like to participate. I’ll have to get a prize (with the winning funds)! That is also a way to thank all of you for your great support!


4. ·        With the rest of the money, I want to buy my fashion dream item! It’s a Chanel handbag. It’s been on my list for years….but I can’t afford unless I win money.  There is a reason why I like Chanel, not just because it’s Hot Couture, but because Coco Chanel, as a woman is my inspiration. She became my beloved couturier after I watched a movie about her. She was an incredible, strong business woman with her personal opinion! I love that about women and needless to say her style is legendary! I have a book with her styles and creations with a lot of history and notes. I just love to go through her photos and styles with a cup of coffee during David’s day naps.

В последнее утро, мы наконец выбирались в магазин после приятного кофе с мороженным. Потом после маленького шопинга на местной плазе, в аэропорт на самолет лететь к себе домой! Соскучились очень за своим любимым и уютным домом! А Давид вообще очень часто говорил что хочет домой:) уже скучал.

Driving and enjoying the ride along the palm trees! We're heading towards the popular beach. We wanted to see the culture on those Miami beaches from movies :) so we ended up in South Beach...

Океан здесь такого нежного бирюзового цвета, я прям не могла налюбоваться! Особенно потому что молодежь вокруг нас очень отвлекала своими тусовочками!
Девушки без верха что бы загар был ровным и причем разных размеров и форм! Комплексы не для южанок Флориды!!!!

В большом городе конечно куча преступлений. Одно произошло прям перед моим походом в ж. туалет. Как выяснилось, были разломаны и сворованы все рулоны туалетной бумаги:)))))
Вот и вся короткая поездка в Майами ...

На этот день мы поехали на Годивуд пляж, центральный с классной набережной и куча кафешками. Погода так же ветреная, но жаркая!

На парковке я наблюдала как бабуля помогала смастерить самокат для ее любимого дедули. Ему тяжело ходить, он ездит, но все-таки они ездят на море и отдыхают... Пенсионеры здесь живут по настоящему! Когда же моя пенсия будет... Хочу так же ездить по всему миру и отдыхать ...

I was observing this cute couple. The wife was helping to build the wheel chair or scooter( don't know the proper name). He has difficulty walking, but that doesn't stop them from enjoying their vacation! Seniors are really enjoying their lives in North America! I love it!

Today was sunny, but still very windy! The ocean was a bit cool and wavy! It didn't stop me though! I swam for a while. David did come and wet his feet, but didn't risk to go for a swim yet. We spent our morning on the beach! Our evening we spent on a beautiful Hollywood Blv walk by the ocean! So many cute little stores, cafes, restaurants... People walking, biking, rolling... Loved it! David had his nap there while we strolled around and had ice cream. Then we played and ran around on the sandy beach ... Can't have enough of fresh salty air and the deep blue ocean view!!!!

Сегодня уже было солнечно, но ветрено. Мы после завтрака пошли на пляж. Вода прохладная и волны меня не остановили ... Наплавалась. А Давид ножки помочил, дольше не пошел :) в общем утро прошло как надо на пляже, когда стало поджаривать, мы уже убежали домой. Пообедали и поехали гулять на Голивуд Бульвар вдоль океана! Нам так понравилось, что завтра утром едем туда купаться. Вдоль этой набережной стоят нескончаемые магазинчики, кафешки, рестораны! Очень людно и много наших, на каждом шагу слышно было русский язык :))) Кстати даже был армянский ресторан с кавказской кухней! Видимо пользуется спросом :)

Нет время много писать, пусть это будет фото пост. Погода была прохладной и мы решили использовать эти дни на поездку в Мир Бабочек. Мы про него много читали и хотели Давиду показать ну и самим посмотреть :).

Красавчики попугаи Лорикиты. Очень умные птицы! Водятся в Новой Гвинее. Один такой сидел одиноко и качается, я близко подошла, а он оказывается поет себе и танцует. Я тоже начала напевать мелодию, он как начал танцевать в такт! Мы упали.... Такой шкодный!

Ну необычный цветок! Аромат обалденый!
Эти цветы еда для самых красивых бабочек в мире. Поэтому в этом заповедники большая коллекция этих вьющихся цветов!

Присмотритесь сколько бабочек летают! Необычное ощущение идешь, а они так везде летают, если долго не двигаться они садятся на людей.

А вот моя любимая птичка колибри. Самая маленькая птица в мире! Я прям увидела как она на лету воду пила! Они машут крыльями 60 раз в секунду! И еще как медик кардиолог, я была в шоке что у них сердце бьется 500-1200 раз в минуту!

Beautiful hummingbird! My favorite! It was the bird of my day there! I saw one drinking while flying! It's unusual because they only fly 20% of the time. As cardiac nurse I was shocked to learn that their heart rate beats 500-1200 beats per minute! Isn't crazy?! Love them! Want one in my backyard!

Finally we're here in Florida, Fort Laderdale, away from our busy jobs and home. We rented a small apartment on the beach and tented a car to explore around! Here is our 1st day in pictures for you, my dear readers! I'll post all the places and comments where we go.

Наконец мы умудрились оторваться от очень занятой и семейной суеты и улететь на недельку в теплое место в штат Флорида, в Форт Латердэйл. Этот городок недалеко от большого города Майями, 20 мин. Мы сняли квартирку на неделю, прям у подножия атлантического океана. Нам хотелось иметь свободу действия, мы сняли машину и поэтому уже катаемся по городу и изучаем интересные местечки вокруг.
Сегодня первый полный день провели отлично и уже оклимались от длительного перелета. Вот наш день в фотографиях для вас, мои дорогие читатели!

Вся в пальмах, обожаю их! --- ❤Palms!

Давидик радуется что долгий шопинг за продуктами в Walmartе закончился.

Мои пацанчики спят, а я кайфую с кофейком и влажным воздухом!!!! Сегодня облачно и ветрено и даже дождливо, так что мы пока не купались, гуляем и адаптируемся.

Уже с макияжем и готова к выходу в люди :) ----- Make up is done and relaxing before going out for dinner.

Прогулка окончена, мы готовы к ужину! Едем искать ресторан где подают Флоридских крабов! Я их уже пробовала и полюбила навсегда! Ждала поездки чтобы их опять вкусить! - We're ready for dinner! Going to a restaurant to eat florida's stone crabs! Love them so much!

Наконец!!!! Вкусно передать не могу! Это каменные крабы(дословный перевод). Их сезон во Флориде с октября по май.

Сладкая картошка фри и петушки.

Ах! - Yum!

Сидим прям на воде, но это уже не океан, а река, проходит параллельно океану.

Ну вот и все! Потом мы прогулялись на Голивуд Бульваре с кучами уличных кафешек. Возле каждой Давид танцевал под разную музыку и народ улыбался нашему мальчику. Наш первый день для вас! ------ Here we go! Our 1st day for you in pictures!
